The Story of the Day

Another great morning of spring skiing, following the sun around the mountain.

The first couple of runs were from the Roundhouse chair, with all possible conditions in a singe run. Frozen at the top; an area of pure silk part way down and heavy nearer the bottom.

Then I moved to Yellow chair. The first run was very difficult. The moguls on the run under the chair were pretty well frozen solid. The second run was much better as he snow softened up.

Finally, Wolverine Bowl from Summit chair was pretty interesting. The moguls near the top were big but soft; the flatter section of the bowl was heavy but skied pretty well flat. The choice to get to the bottom was between the steep and heavily mogulled Waterfall and the traverse through the trees to Blue Trail.

With a reasonably early start and heavy conditions, finishing at lunchtime to get the half day refund was not a great hardship.
